When you’re a first-time mum, you don’t always know how to turn your bundle of yells into a bundle of joy. That’s where Plunket’s Parenting Education Programmes (PEPE) come in useful. They run free courses covering all sorts of essential skills from nutrition, development, safety and positive parenting, right through to baby massage. Jaqui Foote from Avondale Plunket tells us, “We provide these programmes totally free for parents, and we want them to stay free. That’s what Plunket is all about”. So when the Avondale branch applied to The Lion Foundation for funding, we were keen to do our bit to make sure that mother really does know best.
