For the tiny, premature babies who end up in South Auckland's Kidz First Neonatal Unit, every day is a struggle to survive. Securing funds to run the unit has been less of a battle thanks to support from The Lion Foundation. South Auckland Health Foundation's Michelle Kid says the support has funded many additional facilities that really make a difference to the families involved. This includes private breast-feeding rooms, an education room so parents can learn to care for their precious new babies and a family room.
