GIVING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY
Unlike other forms of gambling, non-casino gaming machines operated through charitable trusts like ours are run solely for the purpose of raising money to give back to the community. This community gaming delivers the highest returns to local regions of any gambling, with all profit returned to provide an important lifeline for local causes.
No other form of gambling in New Zealand comes close to this level of return.

By law, non-casino gaming trusts must return at least 37.12% of gaming profits to the community. This is after paying gambling duty, GST and compliance costs to the Government. For the past few years, The Lion Foundation has consistently returned over this level. Last year, this equated to over $37 million going out to New Zealand communities.
We're proud that we consistently give back more than the law requires and we intend to keep up the good work.
